The whole gang is here for this one! Jake, Troy, Chris, Reese, and Scott sit down in Jake’s new apartment to discuss and rank the characters of the hit TV show It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia. This show revolves around a gang of 5 vile, self centered, low life’s in their 30s. Sound familiar? Because it’s been a favorite of ours for so long, we decided to discuss the individual characters in not so great detail.
We've passed the half way point in 2018. What were your favorite movies this year so far? What were your biggest disappointments? What are you still looking forward to? The Coldbros discuss this year in movies so far.
The Coldbros review The Fall (2006) - a film by Tarsem Singh starring Lee Pace. Listen in as the guys spend way too long discussing the country of origin of Alexandria, the main character (played by Catinca Untaru). SPOILER: Troy is right and Reese is wrong (as usual). Cinematography by Colin Watkinson.
This is the first of this type of “special” episode. Since starting this podcast we’ve all had so many ideas for episodes, but not all of them fit into the mold of what The Coldbow Podcast is. So we’ve decided to experiment with special episodes, which are outside the main body of episodes. This is the first in a series of such special episodes — revolving around the music of Sabaton, a Swedish power metal band.
There are a few of us Coldbros that really like history, and while none of us can claim any real acumen, we’ve been wanting to share our passion with you. I (Scott) just so happened to be listening to another podcast that featured a song by Sabaton and I fell in love with the band. With even a cursory glance at their song titles you’ll notice a pattern, they’re all based on historic events and/or figures.
The first such title in Spotify’s “Popular” list is The Last Stand. A song about a small force of ancient warrior/body guards, tasked with protecting the Pope. This force is The Swiss Guard and they’re still around today in Vatican City. Turns out they have a long history, In 1527 these brave men fought and died against a much superior force. And thanks to a heroic last stand they were able to save the Pope and add to their legacy.

Stuff You Should Know:
The Alien Franchise. One of Hollywoods longest running, continuous franchises to date. There are some major heavy hitters here. Including Sigourney Weaver, Ridley Scott, James Cameron, David Fincher, Michael Fassbender, Charlize Theron, Idris Elba, Joss Whedon, Danny McBride (our next hopeful for James Bond), and so much more. All 5 of the Coldbros STACK and discuss the 6 official Alien movies; Alien, Aliens, Alien3, Alien: Resurrection, Prometheus, and Alien: Covenant. Will you agree with the Coldbow Stack? We may or may not get a little philosophical.
Chris has Scott, Troy and Jake all play the video game Inside. A very atmospheric and creepy video game from the studio Playdead games. A game that demands a conversation the second its over. Listen to us discuss, argue and flat out yell what we think the meaning of this mysterious game is.
and yes we do yell...but it's ok, because we love each other <3
spoiler start right around the 20:00 min mark FYI
Listen in as the crew, minus Jake, have a wandering conversation about what makes a good opening scene to a movie. Does it set the tone for the rest of the movie? Does it hook you into the plot or characters? There are many factors that go into this topic and, for some reason, we thought we'd tackle it. As usual we all give our unyealding opinions, who's right or wrong is up to you!

Chris, Scott, Troy and Reese get together and discuss a fantastic band that seems to be popping up everywhere. From commercials to..... well, commercials, Lord Huron is making a big splash and the ColdBros have a opinion. While Jake was unable to join the boys for this episode he was still able to let his pretentious opinion known so his presence was not missed too much. We cannot wait to hear your thoughts about the band and more importantly how much we messed up. Join us as we jump into this band and make fun of Jake.
Troy, Scott, Reese and Jake gather round to discuss comedy. We talk about how comedy works. Why it works. The different genres of comedy. We talk about some of the greats that really shined in their respective genres. Then we each give our personal favorite comedian, both current and all-time.
As always, we are excited to bring this episode to you and cannot wait to hear all the things we got wrong. So take a listen and give us some feedback. Enjoy!

Troy’s dumb joke from Episode 3 comes full circle as we review and discuss a dumb movie with tons of cameos. That movie is Run Ronnie Run (2002) starring David Cross (Arrested Development) and Bob Odenkirk (Breaking Bad/Better Call Saul). Hilarity ensues, tears might have been shed, and we all gained a deeper understanding of each other.
