On this Episode of The ColdBow Podcast the ColdBros, Reese, Jake, Scott, and Chris (Troy was out with Strep Butt), hit another IDAO. With the selection this week from Reese the fellas discuss the 1976 classic Murder by Death. This was a very specific type of classic comedy that may or may not have been a hit for everyone? As always, listen in, do your homework, and let us know your thoughts.
This episode is brought to you by the late great Leslie Nielsen. Surely if you've learned anything from us, it's that you can't take yourself too seriously. This is at the heart of our conversation as Jake, Troy, Scott, Chris, and Reese comb the IMDb archives for our favorite movie spoofs. With the only rule being that the spoof can't have the word "movie" in the title, we delve in to some of the greatest comedic films of all time. But alas, there can only be one goat spoof, a lone star if you will, but you'll have to listen to find out which we choose!
The Coldbros Jake, Reese, Chris, and Troy talk horror films and other, less scary, Halloween films that Reese can handle. We talk about what makes a good horror film like timing and music. We talk a bit about Horror sub-genres like the “found footage” films like Blair Witch, Paranormal Activity, Quarantine, Cloverfield, and others. This episode gets a little creepy, so be warned. Reese genuinely gets a little scared. Does he make it to the end? Do we make him cry? Does he poop himself out of fear? You’ll have to listen to find out.
Troy, Chris, Jake, and Reese get together today, Scott is "sick", to talk about Mr. Chicken himself Don Knotts! We've been waiting a long time to get this episode in. The goofy guy from The Private Eyes has been a comedic hero since the 50s and he is still just as funny today. He is up there with the best of them with the way he can contort his face as well as his mastery of physical comedy and NO ONE could feign confidence quite like Don Knotts. Us Coldbros will discuss the GOAT Don Knotts movie, well some of us will discuss while one of us will just talk about the one movie he watched as his homework. So, dust off your VCRs get your grandpa's old tapes out and get ready for this weeks episode of the Coldbow Podcast!
Join us as Scott, Chris, Reese and half of Jake discuss their GOAT fight scenes in movie history. Keeping it par for the course, we don't have a real rubric for rating or voting, so don't ask us what they are. If you pay real close attention you can hear the half of Jake we lost!
The whole gang is here for this one! Jake, Troy, Chris, Reese, and Scott sit down in Jake’s new apartment to discuss and rank the characters of the hit TV show It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia. This show revolves around a gang of 5 vile, self centered, low life’s in their 30s. Sound familiar? Because it’s been a favorite of ours for so long, we decided to discuss the individual characters in not so great detail.
Troy, Scott, Reese and Jake gather round to discuss comedy. We talk about how comedy works. Why it works. The different genres of comedy. We talk about some of the greats that really shined in their respective genres. Then we each give our personal favorite comedian, both current and all-time.
As always, we are excited to bring this episode to you and cannot wait to hear all the things we got wrong. So take a listen and give us some feedback. Enjoy!
